'Pup' is a short film following a mother bat and her young pup as they travel the night and adventure together. I created the visuals using a combination of traditional stop-frame animation (the bats themselves) and digital animation in Adobe After Effects (all background elements and lighting).

 

The film was a collaboration between NTU (ie me, the film-maker), the University of Nottingham (the composer) and the BBC Concert Orchestra (who performed the soundtrack). Pup was shortlisted for the 2024 New Designers Screening Prize.
